System Architect (all genders) for Research Data Infrastructures (Storage & Resilience)
PANGAEA is hiring a System Architect for Research Data Infrastructures (Storage & Resilience) to strengthen our resilience against cyber and ransomware threats. You will help build a comprehensive external PANGAEA replica at MARUM: designing distributed storage and database solutions across sites, planning petabyte-scale data migrations, and advancing redundant, containerized compute together with logging and monitoring.
Background in computer science or natural sciences; sound experience with Linux, PostgreSQL, distributed storage (Ceph, S3, Isilon), Docker/Kubernetes, and Java required.
Fixed-term (2 years), full- or part-time, Bremen. Apply by 8 July 2026.
