Collections

Several data sets (or even collections), childs, can be grouped into data collections, parents. See the overview of collection types and their typical uses below.

Collection types Typical use Example Download data at once (zip)? Citation parent Citation child Childs can be re-used for other collections?
Bundled publication Data sets are heterogeneous, with dependencies between child data sets.
It does not make sense to publish childs separately because the usability / comprehensiveness of the data sets is only ensured by supplying all data sets as a package.

Publication series Homogeneous data collections (~identical data templates).
Additional data set can be added over time (an open series).
