Help Links to this wiki pages improve the access to the PANGAEA documentation for users, submitters as well as for data managers. The Help buttons are located at the top and the bottom of the PANGAEA start page.

Research Organization Registry (ROR) Identification for Affiliations in PANGAEA: Following the principles from ROR PANGAEA now supports the unique identification of research organizations: "ROR is a community-led project to develop an open, sustainable, usable, and unique identifier for every research organization in the world." Thus PANGAEA benefits from the "affiliation use case" such that a proper and reliable description between researcher, institution, employer, founder etc. can be given. Metadata and information is provided as well as relationships between organizations. Furthermore, the common and uniform metadata set is accessible via open API, the community is responsible for the content. If in PANGAEA a data set is referred to an affiliation and the ROR ID is defined, it accessible via navigation to the affiliation link.
